Role Description

The Customer Enablement and Training Consultant creates and delivers training and workshops that serve as entry points with prospects and furthers our value add to existing clients. You'll blend technical knowledge, facilitation, and business development skills to build out Thinking Machines’ enablement portfolio across the region.

Working closely with Consultants, Technical Leads, and Principals, the Enablement and Training Consultant is integral to ensuring that our clients are fully enabled to utilize the data platforms and services that we provide and creating a vision for the future of work in a world where Automation and Productivity Tools abound. You will also create accessible and easy to understand training programs that provide the fundamental skill sets needed by our clients. To complement this, you will be responsible for empowering our clients to leverage our high-impact data solutions by providing hands-on workshops and upskilling sessions.



Our training programs cover a wide range of data science concepts from Data Engineering, Machine Learning, and Data Storytelling. We do not expect you to be an expert in all of these right from the start. But as part of your role, you will be expected to learn about them over time through the help of our internal technical experts. The programs we aim to teach are technical in nature, and you are expected to be able to explain, break down, and deliver these technical topics for any level of complexity given our diverse audience members. Some of the commonly taught courses cover topics such as using data platforms like Databricks, enhancing productivity with GenAI, and delivering insights with data storytelling techniques.



During periods when enablement program delivery doesn't fully utilize your billable hours, you're expected to flex into Project Management or another relevant technical area, contributing as an individual contributor on billable projects. These hands-on project experiences will significantly accelerate your growth as an Enablement Consultant in the data science space.



Your responsibilities will include:


  • Program Development & Delivery

    • Develop market-ready enablement programs focused on GenAI, AI productivity tools, and data science topics

    • Craft training materials that break down complex technical concepts for diverse audiences

    • Deliver engaging workshops and training sessions that showcase our expertise

    • Maintain and continuously improve our library of enablement assets

    • Collaborate closely with internal and external project managers and technical teams to understand the client’s needs and translate technical topics (e.g., GenAI, dashboarding tools) into educational materials for our clients to fully leverage our solutions or upskill their employees.

  • Business Development

    • Supporting our commercial team by consulting with prospective training leads and drafting project proposals and Statements of Work

    • Collaborate with Senior Consultants and Tech Experts (Internal) and Client Teams (External) to identify needs and training opportunities, including but not limited to establishing inhouse Data Academies for our clients

    • Translate technical upskilling into business value propositions

  • Platform & Process Management

    • Evaluate and improve enablement delivery processes

    • Track engagement metrics and client feedback to refine offerings

Role Requirements

We’re looking for someone who meets the following profile:

  • At least 3 years of relevant experience in corporate learning and development (L&D) / training execution (i.e., project management), development, and delivery -  Ability to design, develop, and deliver technical training and materials. You have a sense of fulfillment in helping others learn. This will be your main responsibility, ensuring that our clients learn from our courses and see training impact.
  • Public speaker - You have given all sorts of presentations to a large audience. We’re looking for effective speakers that can highly engage a crowd by how they deliver.
  • Excellent spoken and written communication skills - You must be prepared to communicate through various formats. This applies to written, oral, and visual communication, as you should be able to effectively impart knowledge to a diverse group of individuals at varying complexity and with different methods.
  • High familiarity and comfort with a remote training/meeting tool such as Zoom, Google Meet, or MS Teams as well as in-person training.
  • Project management expertise - You will own the end-to-end process of delivering enablement sessions. You’ll create and execute training needs analysis, training plans, work alongside client stakeholders to get things off the ground, and manage workshop teams.  
  • Attention to detail - You will be working on building and improving course materials and overseeing workshop logistics. Expect to review technical documentation and track the different components essential to a successful learning experience.  
  • Possess working technical knowledge of the following:

    • GenAI Tools (e.g., ChatGPT, Microsoft CoPilot)

    • Data Warehouses (e.g., Databricks, BigQuery)

    • Dashboarding Tools (e.g., Looker Studio, PowerBI)

    • Programming Languages (e.g., Python, SQL)

  • Learning agility - You're not expected to know everything at the start, but we expect you to fill in the gaps quickly. Be resourceful by researching and asking questions! You'll be part of a very talented team, make sure to learn something new everyday!

High preference for candidates that have:

  • Knowledge of the data science industry and/or data analytics roles/practice
  • Experience working alongside technical stakeholders/teams
  • Hands-on experience with any of the technologies referenced above
